Class of 2012 Completes Professionalism and Adaptability Seminar

The twenty-nine members of the 2012 Class of the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program successfully completed a seminar on “Professionalism & Adaptability” held in Bloomington and Normal, Illinois.  The two-day event was hosted by Illinois State University and GROWMARK, Inc. on November 11 and 12, 2010.

There were four main educational sessions attended by participants.  These included “Communicating Through Leading,” presented by Dr. Richard Ringer of the Organizational Leadership Institute, College of Business, Illinois State University;  Gary Little, President & Chief Operating Officer of Agra-Placements, Ltd. of Lincoln, Illinois presented a seminar on “Exploring Your Communication Style;”  “Systems Thinking for Leaders” was presented by Dr. Janet Wessel Krecji, Dean & Professor, Mennonite College of Nursing, Illinois State University; and Larry Fischer, Retired Vice President of Instruction, John Wood Community College spoke on “Making Proper Introductions.”

Baise Added to “Links” Site

Gary Baise

IALF Board Member Gary Baise’s column “Defending Agriculture” has been added to the Links site on The IALF website. Simply click on “Links” at the top of the page and Defending Agriculture on the drop down menu.

Mr.  Baise is an Illinois farmer and trial attorney at the law firm Olsson Frank Weeda Terman Bode Matz PC. in Washington DC. Specializing in ag and environmental issues, he also serves as outside General Counsel for the Agricultural Retailers Association, National Association of Wheat Growers, and National Sorghum Producers.
