Hong Kong Market
|
Hanoi, Vietnam
to Hong Kong, China
|
|
|
The day started with another adventurous bus
trip back to the airport. We boarded the plane and said
goodbye to Vietnam. We left Hanoi and headed toward our final
destination of Hong Kong. |

When we arrived in Hong Kong Norman Li of the
State of Illinois, Far East Bureau, greeted us. Mr. Li
directed us on a brief tour of Hong Kong food markets. He gave
us insight on Hong Kong’s food markets, ranging from primitive
wet market to a modern western style market.
|
| The wet market consisted of fresh produce and
meat, which was advertised in a variety of ways. The modern
market was just like any supermarket in the states. It was
very interesting to see the great contrast between the two. |

Jim Collins, DuPont/Pioneer
|
The day ended with a Cantonese Dinner hosted
by Jim Collins of DuPont/Pioneer. Mr. Collins talked to us
about doing business Asian Pacific Region. We had a delightful
meal that was filled with great food and even better
conversation.
|
| As we wind down the International
Trip of the IALP Class of 2002, we now have the chance to
reflect on what we have learned over the past twelve days. The
information and the friendships that we will take away from
this program will become more and more valuable each and
everyday. |
