ITS Day 1- Traveling to Hong Kong

China Bound!!  Our group of 31 headed east today from the International Terminal of Chicago O’Hare Airport.  After a seamless check in, we boarded our Cathay Pacific 777 bound for Hong Kong.

The 16-hour flight didn’t exactly fly by, but was quite smooth, delay free and the service was good.  We departed Chicago at 2:20pm on Saturday and arrived at 8:30pm Sunday local time in Hong Kong, so a whole day slipped right by on us before we knew it.  After an uneventful swing through customs and baggage claim we were on out way.  Despite the long flight the travelers arrive bright eyed and ready for the experience ahead. Several of the travelers decided to grab a quick bite to eat and ventured into the lovely 65 degree Hong Kong weather.

The 45 minutes shuttle ride to the hotel took us by the container port packed full of ships and along Hong Kong bay for a scenic evening view of the skyline.  Our accommodations are quite nice and come completely with a warm pot of tea waiting for us in the room.  Its time to synchronize our clocks and get ready for our first full day in Hong Kong including a visit to the container port.  Tomorrow will be another exciting day and we look forward to the adventure that lie ahead!
