Mentoring the Next Generation of Ag Leaders

With thirty-two years separating their graduation from the prestigious Illinois Ag Leadership Foundation program, 1988 alumnus, Allan Worrell, has taken a special interest in coaching 2020 participant, Adam Bauer. Bauer joined Worrell Land Services as a Real Estate Broker in 2018, combining his passion for land and the great outdoors with his professional experiences to help land buyers and sellers achieve their goals. Additionally, Bauer is gaining experience within the Company’s farm management business segment.

Worrell said, “The spirit of the IALF is to develop effective leaders within the ag industry. That mission does not stop after we graduate from the program; those of us with decades of experience should commit to bringing the next generation under our wing. As I think about Adam, still relatively early in his ag career, it is my privilege to help him learn the ropes. He is eager to grow and has a deep understanding of agriculture that I believe will be of great service to his clients long into the future.”

“Allan and I recently put together a land transaction wherein he represented the seller and I represented the buyer. Even in just that one transaction, I learned a lot from Allan on the art of negotiation and the importance of patient persistence. I will be a better Land Broker because of the opportunity I have to learn from one of the best in the industry,” said Bauer.

In addition to his work with Worrell Land Services, Bauer also co-owns My Farm Business, LLC which works with Central Illinois farmers on growth model strategies, grain brokerage, debt management strategies, and crop insurance.

Worrell graduated from the IALF program in 1988 and counts it as one of the most dynamic learning experiences in his early ag career. He holds the ranks of State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, Accredited Farm Manager, and Accredited Land Consultant.
